October Reading List

Hi everyone!

October is here, which means…Spooky season just arrived! I couldn’t be more excited 🙂

I decided to choose creepy books for this month, and I couldn’t be more happy with my tbr pile. (You can tell how much I love Stephen King).

Let’s dive in!

It Part II // Stephen King

Goodreads Synopsis: Welcome to Derry, Maine … It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real …

They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name.

Genre: Horror

Goodreads Rating: 4.24 / 5

I read the first part in August and decide to take a break on the story. Now I’m super excited to dive into the final part of the book. It’s a very heavy and spooky plot, but I am loving every single part of it. Definitely, the perfect book for this month 🙂

Goodreads Synopsis: This superb new collection brings together stories from the earliest decades of Gothic writing with later 19th and early 20th century tales from the period in which Gothic diversified into the familiar forms of the ghost-and horror-story. Some of these stories are lost masterpieces and several have never been anthologised before.

Genre: Horror; Gothic; Short Stories

Goodreads Rating: 3.70 / 5

Purchased it on a book fair that I went this summer, already thinking of reading it in October. It will be the perfect company during my bus trips to university.

Under The Dome II // Stephen King

Goodreads Synopsis: All hell has broken loose in Chester’s Mill after an invisible force field suddenly and inexplicably descends on the small Maine town, isolating all within it from the outside world. As the grim reality of the situation dawns and panic sets in, each other town’s denizens reveals their true nature in the face of shortages, rationing, lawlessness, and uncertainty.

Genre: Horror; Science Fiction

Goodreads Rating: 4.08 / 5

I read “Under the Dome Part I” 4 years ago and it was my first Stephen King book. Since then, this author became one of my favorites and now I’m finally reading the second part of this engaging story.

I still remember most things, so it’ll feel good to come back to Chester’s Mill 🙂

Have you read this book yet? Have you ever watched the series?
