Summer 2020 Bucket List (+ FREE PRINTABLE)
– Post Quarantine Edition –
Summer arrived! YAY! 🙂
Even though 2020 has been a rough year, I’ve never been so excited for summer like I am now.
To give you some context, I never had a good relationship with this season, which is super weird. Instead of being super hyped, I get really depressed during these months.
However, I’m about to change that. This year, I’m determined to have the best summer ever.
For that, I decided to make a bucket list of all the things I want to do in the next months. I tried to create ideas that would apply not only to me but to everyone.
It will be a different Summer, for sure. In my country, there won’t be festivals, parties and, for now, gatherings with more than 20 people are forbidden. For me, it won’t make that much of a difference, but I know that for a lot of people will.
Let’s take this time to try new things and make the most of the coming months 🙂
I hope you find in this list the inspiration and motivation you’re looking for!
Enjoy!
Summer Ideas
- Go on a nature walk: Nature has so many things to offer, so this month I’m determined to go for a walk every day!
- Go stargazing: Stars have always fascinated me. One of the best things about Summer is its clear night skies. Don’t you agree?
- Outdoor movie night: I’ve always wanted to try this. I found this article on housebeautiful.com, which was very helpful.
- Make homemade ice cream: There are tons of recipes on the internet, but I found this one very easy and simple to make: https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/how-to-make-ice-cream-without-an-ice-cream-maker/
- Go camping: I really wanna do this, even if I have to do it in my backyard!! I was searching for a camping checklist and found this one. I hope it helps you too.
- Go biking
- Have a cookout: I’m not fond of cooking, but I’m willing to give it a chance. With my family’s company, I’m sure it’ll be fun 🙂
- Watch the sunset: Because the most precious moments are in the smallest things.
- Have a Picnic: I haven’t done a picnic in ages! But I’m about to change that. Again, I found this picnic checklist that can help you choose what to pack.
- Try a new food: I’m thinking of trying something related to Indian food, which is the one I know less about. What about you?
- Buy a plant and take care of it
- Bake a fruit pie from scratch: This is something I’m really excited about. I usually check BBC Good Food to find new recipes, so I found this compilation of 38 fruit pie recipes that looks amazing. If you have any recipe of your own, I would love to know more about it! 🙂
- Pick berries
- Go for a walk at night
- Watch fireworks: This might be a little bit difficult since there won’t be parties and festivals. But hope never dies!
- Make a Summer playlist: This is something I actually do every year. I create my playlists on Spotify, so if you have a playlist on this platform feel free to link it in the comment section down below. I’d happily check it out.
- Eat cotton candy
- Read books: Is there anything better to do? 😉
- Clear out your closet: My closet is a mess! So I’m taking this time to clear it out and donate some clothes to charity. (Seriously, my closet is in a critical state right now)
- Take photos of your hometown: This is something I remembered to do only this year. For some reason, quarantine left me quite nostalgic, so I think this will be a good idea.
- Volunteer
- Fly a kite: If you’re a beginner like me, this article might be helpful: https://store.kittyhawk.com/pages/kite-flying-tips
- Send a postcard
- Explore a new place
- Family game night: Me and my family love to play board games, especially Monopoly! Games, food, and time with your family are the main ingredients for the most adorable summer night! I loved this article from Better Homes & Gardens. It has the cutest ideas for a perfect game night.
- Dance in the rain
- Start a bullet journal: This is definitely something I’ve been wishing to do for the longest time. Pinterest has been given me all the inspiration I was looking for. You can find the most amazing ideas there. On my Pinterest, you can find a board with my favorite bullet journals!
- Star a herbarium: It all started when I found this Portuguese brand called “Atelier Arminho” (not sponsored). They have the cutest herbarium book that I’m looking forward to purchasing.
Personal Summer Goals
For this season, there are a few personal things I want to accomplish. Here are they:
- Read 20 books: I’m really confident about it! I’ve read almost all the books from my June TBR, so I’m hoping to keep up with this pace.
- Read a book released this Summer: I’m really excited about all the Summer book releases that are coming! However, “Splinters of Scarlet” is making me super curious! It’s coming on the 21st of July, and I just can’t wait! You can find all the information about this book release and others in my recent post: https://notsosecretme.com/book-releases-you-cant-miss-summer-2020/
- Reach 100 blog subscribers
- Monetize my blog
- Post two times a week
- Review all my german classes
- Improve my photography skills
